There’s a story about a small village where all the women used to meet at the river to do their washing. When modern technology came along they all got washing machines, which technically made things better, but something else happened too. They got depressed. They missed the connection that they had with each other and were now moping around in clean clothes on their own.
We can’t adequately answer the eternal question of why it was the women’s job to wash the goddamn clothes in the first place but we can totally relate to one thing - connection is powerful.
Being a female entrepreneur can be like that too. You get to work at home, as opposed to going into an office, but you can often be as lonely as hell and spend tons of time doing pointless crap. Add being a Mum in the mix and you do the pointless crap bit and then feel completely guilty about it or you don’t even have time for pointless crap because there are so many other things to do.
We have also felt the pain of being the badass boss that no one wants to invite to the pub for after-work drinks ‘cause then they can’t gossip about the boss… which happens to be you!
Being your own boss can be all sorts of lonely.
What has this got to do with Content Jam? Well, we are two women, that although wildly successful in our own fields, enjoy working together better. We get to balance out each other’s crazy and have these complementary skill sets and personalities.
We get all sorts of synergy from each others specialities, it makes us happy and well, it’s more fun. As a team, we are also better equipped to help other women find their way to shine out bright, so they can connect to each other, to their customers, to the world.
Between us, we have 54 years experience growing ours and others businesses. We have a combination of 3 children, 2 marriages, one divorce, and like a shit ton of de facto relationships and casual flings. We could probably give you all sorts of relationship advice but that’s not our thing.
We have been there done that in our own business, employed hundreds of people, fired a few, been fired, won awards, made a ton of money, failed, cried and got back up again. We have the kind of confidence that doesn’t just come with wine and spanx but from surviving and thriving. Now we want to pass on this epic experience to help you navigate your own path as simply and easily as possible while being your total badass self.
Being over forty our oestrogen levels are this perfect balance of not giving a shit about the pointless crap and the haters. But we still have enough oestrogen in our systems to give a shit about people that matter. About you.
